Potassium Sports Network is a donation and local-business-supported hometown sports hub providing the kind of coverage local athletes, families, and fans deserve — created with a business model prioritized and dedicated to distributing a share of our earnings directly back to local schools and youth organizations we cover.
Our mission is to ensure these sports can continue to thrive and that financial circumstances never become a barrier to every athlete having the chance to play and be recognized.
Every dollar goes directly into coverage or back into the schools and organizations — nothing is wasted, and with your help, PSN can keep growing as something that truly belongs to the North Country and its athletes.

PAYING IT FORWARD, PAYING IT BACK, + GETTING STUDENTS IN THE GAME
When PSN Founder Jeff Garrant grew up in the North Country, there was no clear path into the sports business. He built one himself — a 30-year career in sports marketing that took him from local roots to national brands.
Now, through Potassium Sports Network, he’s helping to create that roadmap for today’s students.
This hands-on internship is designed to give college students and high school seniors (preferred, but not mandatory) real-world experience, mentorship, and connections that open doors to careers in sports media, journalism, and marketing.

At Potassium Sports Network, we believe in integrity, honesty, and being open about how we create our coverage. We’re not claiming to be journalists, and we’re not doing this to win writing or journalism awards. Our focus is on giving athletes, families, and communities the timely, meaningful coverage they deserve.
For the events and games we attend in person, many of those stories are written utilizing Artificial Intelligence tools, but the foundation always comes from our team. That means the information provided in regards to actual factual reporting, onsite observations, context on what happened and why, the corresponding interviews, and the final editing are all done by the Potassium Sports Network staff.
For post-game video and other interviews, while parental permission is generally not required under New York law for standard sports coverage, we make it our practice to ask the athlete and confirm with their coach that participation is okay — ensuring comfort, respect, and support in every interaction.
We believe in the advantages of modern technology — using the best tools available helps us publish faster, cover more teams, and deliver deeper, more meaningful stories to our community. For us, Artificial Intelligence is just one more way to make our reporting efficient, while keeping the heart of every story rooted in our own insight and voice.
Our goal is simple: to use every tool available to deliver accurate, timely, and meaningful coverage of local sports.

For games and events we cannot attend in person, stories may be created using information submitted through our digitally provided coach questionnaires.
These questionnaires are designed by Potassium Sports Network — meaning the details we receive are the ones we specifically ask for.
Our questionnaires ask coaches to share game summaries, highlights, and key context, but also to give credit to their athletes — including unsung heroes and contributors who might not appear on the stat sheet. This ensures the athletes - most importantly - get the recognition and exposure they deserve (See below for example questionnaires).
Artificial Intelligence is often used to draft these stories, but the final review, editing, and shaping are always handled by our staff to ensure accuracy, fairness, and consistency with our voice.
